Program financial aid

Certain programs at UPF-IDEC offer specific financial aid to incoming students, funded by collaborating entities. You can currently benefit from program-specific financial aid for the following master programs:

  • LL.M. in Professional Legal Practice

The Institute of Continuing Education's Private Foundation and Pompeu Fabra University offer the following financial aid options to students of LL.M. in Professional Legal Practice:

    • Scholarship based on academic merit: covers up to 40% of the cost of the master’s tuition fees.
    • Economic hardship grant: covers up to 20% of the cost of the master’s tuition fees.

Both financial aid options are compatible and can be requested once admission to the course has been granted.
Details on how to apply and what documents are required will be provided once you are notified of your admission to the program.

    Calendar:
Application deadline and presentation of documentation: You will be able to apply and provide the relevant documents in the 10 working days following your admission date. You will be provided with the application link upon admission.

    Notification:
The admission decision will be sent to you via email one month after the application deadline. Please note that whether or not you decide to apply for the scholarship, you must first pay the place reservation fee by the date stated in the admission e-mail. The discount relating to the scholarship awarded will apply to the remaining amount of the tuition fees.

    Required Documents:
For both aid options, students will be asked to send the following via an online platform:

    1. Scholarship based on Academic Merit
      • A letter in support of the application, highlighting the student’s strengths and why they believe they should be awarded the aid.
    2. Economic Hardship Grant
      • A letter in support of the application, highlighting the student’s strengths and why they believe they should be awarded the aid. In addition:
        1. Applicants who study and don’t work:
          • Summary sheet of the most recent tax return for the family unit
        2. Applicants who are employed:
          • Summary sheet of the most recent tax return
          • Last payslip
          • Income certificate
        1. Applicants who are self-employed:
          • Declaration of self-employed status
          • Summary sheet of the most recent personal tax return
        2. Applicants who are unemployed:
          • Certification of unemployed status (available from the applicant’s home country’s national employment office)

The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to request additional documentation from applicants if required. Failure to submit any of the aforementioned documents will result in the application being denied.

Reasons for the financial aid being revoked:

    • Documentation used to accredit the merits and situation of the student proving to be false.
    • De-registration from the master’s for any reason: academic, voluntary or disciplinary.
    • A final mark of “fail” in the master’s degree.

If the scholarship is revoked, the student will be obliged to reimburse IDEC Foundation with the full amount of the financial assistance received.

This program has its own grants program, where the UPF-IDEC and Pompeu Fabra University contribute a significant amount to the funding of the enrolment fee. For this reason, students from this program cannot request a Talent scholarship.
