[30/11/12]

The President of FemCat, Carles Sumarroca, was the guest of honour at the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Continuing Education Institute Private Foundation, held last Tuesday, 27 November, under the presidency of the Rector of the UPF and President of the Board of Trustees, Josep Joan Moreso. The event was attended by almost fifty people from the companies and institutions which make up the Board of Trustees, and numerous representatives from the University, IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Barcelona School of Management.

The event consisted of a dinner followed by a few words by the President of FemCat, Carles Sumarroca, who opened a debate among the attendees. The debate discussed the cuts suffered by the University, and the possible sources of financing to be able to confront them without reducing the teaching and research quality.

Carles Sumarroca, Vice-president of Comsa Emte, is President of FemCat, a foundation which brings together businesspeople, executives and professionals who support the initiatives in favour of the progress of Catalan society. Its objective is to take an important step forwards in the next 10 years, converting Catalonia into a socially and economically pioneering country, in Europe and the world.
