The Employment Market Drives Increased Demand for Compliance Studies

Last year, Pompeu Fabra University (through its UPF Barcelona School of Management center for postgraduate courses) and Madrid’s Carlos III University (through its Foundation) launched the first specialist Postgraduate Course in Compliance, offered in Barcelona and Madrid. This year, not only are other educational institutions offering the same course, but UPF Barcelona School of Management and Carlos III University received so many applications that they decided to double the number of places available and run two editions of the course in the same academic year.

The first edition of the course has already begun, attended by a total of 30 students, while the second edition will begin in March. “The entry into force of the new Criminal Code and the corresponding demand from companies for specialists in this area has meant that many professionals, particularly lawyers, want to undertake this training and specialize in this new field”, explained Iñigo Ortiz de Urbina, the Director of the Postgraduate Course in Compliance offered by UPF Barcelona School of Management.
