Search engine marketing in the digital world

[22/09/09]

On 21st September a talk given by Arron Walter entitled ?Publishing findable content? opened a one-day meeting on search engine marketing in the digital world, which was organized jointly by IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, the Official College of Librarians and Documentalists of Catalonia and the General Consulate of the United States in Barcelona.

Arron Walter warned of the exponential growth in the rates of content published on the Internet, a fact which obliges us to actively help our audiences to find the content they are looking for. Walter's solution is to publish in a more intelligent way so as to be more accessible to search engines and so reach our target audience more easily.

This talk was followed by a round table, mediated by Cristòfol Rovira, lecturer on the Master's in Search Engines, during which the following professionals from different areas debated on ?Web optimization in a 2.0 setting?:

Mónica Alonso, IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra
Abraham Covelo, Atrapalo.com
Nando Llorella, megustaelturismo.es
Albert López, Softonic

The meeting ended in the afternoon with a workshop entitled Search Engine Optimization, led by lecturers on the Master's in Search Engines from IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
