The Master of Science in International Business (Máster Universitario en Negocios Internacionales) at the UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM) has been recognized as the tenth best in the world by the QS International Trade Rankings 2025, a classification that evaluates programs in the field of international trade and business.
The UPF-BSM master’s program ranks in the Top 10 worldwide, alongside International Business master’s programs from other renowned business schools such as INSEAD, IMD, ESADE, Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona State University), and the National University of Singapore (NUS).
At the European level, the QS ranking places the UPF-BSM program in seventh position, while in Spain, it ranks as the second best, only behind ESADE.
“Having such a prestigious ranking as QS recognize our Master in International Business among the top 10 worldwide represents a major achievement for UPF-BSM and is the result of the collective effort of our entire academic community,” said José M. Martínez-Sierra, General Director of UPF-BSM.
“Our commitment to teaching innovation and excellence in the education of future leaders has been key to achieving the international prestige we currently enjoy, which is reflected in the main rankings and accreditations in the field,” added the school’s General Director.
An innovative teaching methodology
The QS ranking, one of the most recognized international evaluations in the academic field, assessed International Business master’s programs across a total of 106 business schools worldwide. To do so, it evaluated six dimensions: program content (30%), reputation among key stakeholders (20%), graduates’ career outcomes (15%), industry connections (15%), innovative teaching methodology (10%), and research (10%).
Among these variables, the UPF-BSM master’s program achieved an outstanding score of 99.8/100 in the Innovative Teaching Methodology category, ranking as the top program in Europe and Spain, and second globally. This category assesses how the program is delivered, its teaching methods, and the ways students are evaluated, with special emphasis on the adoption of innovative, student-centered methodologies, particularly those based on experiential learning.
Another area in which the UPF-BSM program stands out is Program Content, where it achieved a score of 98.9/100, ranking as second in Spain, fourth in Europe, and fifth globally. This category evaluates not only how programs are delivered but also what is taught, with the goal of ensuring that graduates acquire the skills and competencies demanded by international trade employers. Therefore, significant importance is placed on program content and whether subjects are core or elective.
