The Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU Catalunya) has renewed the institutional accreditation of UPF Barcelona School of Management (UPF-BSM).
UPF-BSM was the first center affiliated with a public university to obtain this accreditation in 2020, and it is now also the first to achieve reaccreditation, having received a positive assessment in all evaluated dimensions.
“It is a pleasure to share this good news for our institution. This reaccreditation consolidates the recognition of the quality of our academic and institutional model,” says José M. Martínez-Sierra, Director General of the UPF-BSM.
The areas analyzed in the process include institutional policies and strategy, the design and implementation of academic programs, student admission and progression, faculty, student-centered learning, support resources, the internal quality assurance system, and public information; all of them receiving a positive evaluation.
The report also highlights several best practices developed by the school. These include the Talent UP program, designed to enhance students’ employability through a personalized approach, as well as the quarterly evaluation system of faculty academic performance, which has made it possible to identify areas for improvement and strengthen teaching quality.
Likewise, the evaluation committee, which visited the school in October 2025 and held meetings with staff, students, and alumni of UPF-BSM, emphasized the student support provided in both on-campus and online programs, including personalized academic monitoring and analytical tools.
The report also underscores the school’s sustainability and social impact strategy, aligned with UPF’s Planetary Wellbeing approach, which integrates sustainability into governance, teaching, research, and knowledge transfer.
According to Martínez-Sierra, the external evaluation committee also highlighted the clarity of the school’s strategic plan, as well as its international outlook. “The evaluators identified as a best practice the clarity of our strategic plan in defining priority areas, objectives, and concrete actions, as well as the importance of the school’s international dimension. These elements reinforce the path we are developing through the 2030 Strategy, which we have already shared with our community,” he notes.
With this renewal of its institutional accreditation, UPF-BSM reaffirms the strength of its academic model and its commitment to continuous improvement, as well as its student-centered approach from the admissions process through to entry into the professional job market.
